FAQ's

Why should I consign at this sale?

Seasonal consignment sales are an up and coming thing!  They give great discounts on clothes and items for all kids. When you consign at this sale you get 60% of the price for your merchandise!  Not a mere 40-50% you'd get at a consignment shop.  Even better, YOU get to set the price for your items!  We do all the hard work of selling and getting customers. And all you have to do is drop off your items and pick them up!

What about the new law banning recalled items or lead items?

I have done a lot of searching to get to the bottom of this new law.  As with any law they are up to interpretation

Here is what I have gathered:

The new safety law does not require resellers to test children’s products in inventory for compliance with the lead limit before they are sold. However, resellers cannot sell children’s products that exceed the lead limit and therefore should avoid products that are likely to have lead content.  These products include but are not limited to: children’s jewelry and painted wooden or metal toys; flimsily made toys that are easily breakable into small parts; toys that lack the required age warnings; and dolls and stuffed toys that have buttons, eyes, noses or other small parts that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children.  If the paint is chipping from a toy or is wearing off it is not allowed to be sold.  All items will be inspected prior to the sale and will be removed from the floor.

When the CPSIA was signed into law on August 14, 2008, it became unlawful to sell recalled products. Among these recalls are children's products particularly cribs and play yards so please pay close attention if you choose to bring these items to consign.

All consignors please check the CPSC Web site (www.cpsc.gov) for information on recalled products before bringing them to the sale.  If you need help please email me and I will be glad to help you figure out if your item is recalled.

What happens to items that do not sell at the sale?

Your items that do not sell will be able to be picked up on Sunday 4/26 between the hours of 12pm-1pm.  ALL ITEMS NOT PICKED UP AT THIS TIME WILL BE DONATED. Please see the following link about where I will be taking unclaimed items from the sale. www.rapcc.com

Please make sure you bring a large storage tub or two for your items to be placed in once the sale is over.  We will have your items sorted and placed in these tubs.  Please mark your consignor number on the tub or attach a large piece of paper with the number on the side of the tub.

What about pricing my items? Got any good advice as to what sells?

As a consignor, you set the price on all items that you are selling. Remember that bargain hunters are looking for awesome deals, so be reasonable with your pricing. All prices must be in whole dollar increments.

We also recommend that you allow your items to go half-price on Saturday by marking Discount: Yes on your tags.   Saturday shoppers are very thrifty and often will not even consider an item unless it is half-price!

How and when will I get paid for the stuff that has sold?

You can expect to receive a check in the mail in as little as one week! When you come to sign in please make sure you bring a self addressed stamp envelope with your signed paperwork.

There will be a lot more detail about consigning and the requirements for items in your consignor package. So please email me and sign up to be a consignor!

Still have questions? Please contact us anytime! We look forward to hearing from you.
